Refined for Jira comes with a simple setup to get you started.
For instance, the module Service Desks and Categories Module will show you the structure of your site. It is automatically populated and will show links to all the Service Desks and added Jira projects, but the downside is that you may not want to show all, or have more control over your page.
In this tutorial we will show you ow you can work with URLs and Navigation Modules to tailor your pages.

Getting the URLs
First thing to do is to get the URLs for the categories and the portals.
- Navigate to the category or portal.
- Get the URL to that resource from the browser.
IT Service Desk
HR Help Center
Go to IT Knowledge Base
Any external link
|Go to HR FAQ||Link||Any external link|
Because of the structure of this site with both categories and projects/portals, we will use one module for IT and one module for the HR. Documentation will be placed in a separate section.
Start by adding a section to host the category.
Add one Navigation Content and enter the URL for the category on it.
Save to see the result.
Repeat the steps to add in links to IT Service Desk and HR Help Center.
In this instance we'll use Navigation Icons for the links.
- Get the URL from the portal.
- Add a Section.
- Add two columns to it.
- Add one Navigation Icon in each of the columns, use the URLs from before.
- You can style the Navigation Icon with a custom Image, or use a bundled icon.
Now that all the links that are contained in the Service Desks and Categories module have been accounted for, this module can be removed.
- Edit the layout
- Click the X in the top right corner of the section and confirm deletion.
You now have the same links as before, but they are showing as images and icons instead of in a list.

Please note that since this is manually setup, you will need to update the portal if you for instance add a new service desk so that users can still find it.
